With the Brazil, Peru and Colombia coffee harvests finishing, now is the perfect time to start planning. Consider your desired volumes and reach out, coffee samples will be available soon!

Timeline

Timing is everything, especially when it comes to popular specialty coffee lots. This 2025/2026 timeline gives you a reliable overview of how the coffee harvest season unfolds in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Rwanda, and Indonesia. Knowing when coffees are harvested and shipped helps you plan ahead, secure the lots you want, and stay informed about new, exciting coffees. Note that the exact timing can always shift slightly due to factors like weather, climate change, or unexpected port congestion.

Origins and Harvest

Across our coffee origins, the second half of 2025 is shaping up with stronger quality and plenty of exciting coffees. From Brazil’s promising harvest to fresh varieties in Peru, exotic lots from Colombia, and shifting market dynamics in Rwanda and Indonesia, here’s what to consider as you plan your buying.

Brazil

This season, quality is looking strong across the regions we source from, with Brazilian peaberries emerging as a highlight thanks to their excellent cup potential. While microlot deliveries are arriving a little slower than in previous years, there’s already a wide range of Brazilian coffees SPOT available. Expect strong quality regional blends alongside expressive lots with interesting fermentation profiles like Arara and Acauã.

Naturals dominate this year in Brazil's production, with fewer experimental anaerobic fermentations available. Across the board, maturation has been more even than last year, and the outlook for specialty coffee is promising. One of the most exciting developments this year is the high percentage of peaberries, many of excellent quality and some are already appearing on our offer list with more to come. On the grading side, we’ve also introduced an AI green grader to strengthen a more robust physical grading and reduce the risk of quakers.

Colombia

From Colombia, we are receiving increased volumes of "Almibar" after ten years of trustful collaboration with our partner Coocentral. From Cuatro Vientos in Huila, we’re sourcing Javas, Geishas, and other exotic coffee varieties in this year's harvest with excellent qualities. This harvest we will also have the usual Honey coffees from Fusión Coffee Exporters in Nariño, along with two new collective naturals: Amigos de Buesaco (Buesaco) and Amigos de Aponte (Aponte subregion), plus a new Decaf Pink Bourbon. Farms sit at altitudes above 2000 metres, on rich volcanic soils—ideal for top-quality Colombian coffee.

Peru

The harvest this year was slightly delayed but is now in full swing, peaking in September–October. It’s shaping up to be a strong harvest both in quantity and quality.

Extended rains have reduced natural processing, leading to swollen cherries, but we’re still seeing excellent lots. The internal market is very high for coffees cupping 82–86, making pricing and contracting more challenging. Excitingly, new coffee varieties such as SL09, Sidra, and Typica Mejorado are tasting outstanding. We are also expanding our supplier network this year and exploring new Peruvian origins in the south.

Indonesia

We’re excited to share great updates on our Indonesian specialty coffee offerings, and even more thrilled by your interest in them. These coffees continue to be among the most distinctive and compelling we’ve sourced from the region. They come from a dedicated family of producers we’ve been collaborating with for several years. Through this long-term partnership, we’ve been able to support them in developing consistent profiles while still experimenting with new processing methods to refine quality.

This season, the internal coffee market in Indonesia has faced significant pressure. Global coffee price volatility, combined with new US tariffs on Indonesian coffee exports, triggered aggressive cherry buying from domestic buyers who prioritized volume over pricing. The result was the highest internal cherry prices we’ve ever seen.

Even with these challenges, our partners at Frinsa Estate have once again managed to deliver some stellar Indonesian specialty coffees we think you’ll enjoy.

Rwanda

The 2025 coffee season in Rwanda has shown real improvement compared to 2024, with overall conditions more favorable for both quality and logistics.

One key shift this year is a more evenly distributed harvest, which allows washing stations to manage cherry intake more efficiently. This spacing is improving processing consistency and drying outcomes, contributing to better cup clarity, structure, and overall stability. That said, the market remains competitive. With no zoning regulations in place, competition for cherry is still intense, pushing internal cherry prices up by around 25% this season. Export costs are also rising, with the fertilizer fund fee doubling in 2025. While this supports long-term agricultural investment, it increases short-term costs for exporters.

Despite these hurdles, Rwanda’s specialty coffee outlook for 2025 is strong. We’re seeing exciting lots with great clarity, structure, and improved processing, backed by the dedication of producers across the regions we work in.

Autumn Cupping 2025

If you want to learn more about this season’s harvest and get answers to questions a single article can’t cover, our Autumn Cupping events are the ideal place to do it.

25th- 26th of September in Oslo

Come to our headquarters in Oslo to taste our incoming arrivals from Colombia, Peru, Indonesia, Rwanda and Brazil. This event is a great opportunity for roasters to taste a wide variety of in-season coffees and make informed buying decisions on early arrivals.. Another highlight will be our guest speaker Jette Brandauer, Program Manager for Sustainability Data at NKG, who will be at the event to explain what the EUDR means for Nordic Approach and our customers, and answer your questions on compliance and implementation.

This will be a great opportunity to connect with the specialty coffee community and learn more about the information we touched upon above and give you room to ask questions about everything you need to know to plan your upcoming season.

03rd of October in London

Our team is also heading back to London for another Autumn Cupping. This is a perfect alternative for you who cannot attend our Oslo Autumn Cupping in September.

Join us for a tasting of our latest arrivals from Colombia, Peru, Indonesia, Rwanda and Brazil. You’ll get a closer look at what coffees we’ve been sourcing at origin this year, and it’s a great chance to connect with other coffee professionals.
