In 2026, Nordic Approach is offering a series of origin trips to Ethiopia and Kenya, giving roasters the chance to visit producers, cup fresh coffees, and experience the harvest firsthand. Guided by our local experts, these trips are designed to deepen your understanding of African coffee production, strengthen sourcing relationships, and provide valuable context for your purchasing decisions.
Ethiopia Trips
These are the best times to align with our local team and get the most out of your visit.
Week 3 : 12th - 18th of January (FULLY BOOKED)
Field trip to the South
A week in the field visiting farms, washing stations, and meeting producers together with our green buyers Josh and Adham.
This trip is not solely for cupping or buying, but ideal for those who want to deepen their understanding of Ethiopian production and meet our partners at origin.
Week 10: 2nd - 8th of March (REGISTRATION OPEN)
Cupping & buying – Washed coffees
Join Jamie and Adham in Addis for cupping sessions focused on washed coffees from across Ethiopia. This is the key period for selecting washed lots. You can also link this trip with the Kenya origin visit the week before, both led by Jamie.
Week 16: 13th - 19th of April (REGISTRATION OPEN)
Cupping & buying – Naturals + Anaerobics
A week in Addis with Adham our green buyer and his team, dedicated to naturals and experimental processes. Ideal for those looking for fruit-forward, expressive profiles.

Kenya Trip
Week 9: 23rd – 27th February (REGISTRATION OPEN)
Cupping + Field Visits
You will join Jamie Jongkind for cupping sessions and 1–2 nights visiting farms in Nyeri and Kirinyaga. This trip is designed to give a full view of the Kenyan supply chain, from farm to cup and can be combined with the Week 10 Ethiopia trip for an extended East Africa journey.

How to Join
Please register your interest for our trips to Ethiopia and/or Kenya. After reviewing your submission, we’ll follow up to coordinate logistics and cupping schedules with confirmed participants.
These trips are a great opportunity to meet producers and see the supply chain firsthand, cup and select coffees with our sourcing team, gain deeper context for your purchasing decisions, and connect with other roasters sourcing through us.
