About
Delia Iliopoulou Friis
As Content Manager, Delia is responsible for telling the stories behind the coffees, the people producing them, and the work that goes into getting them from origin to roaster.
Role and responsibility
Delia’s role covers content and communication across the company, from long-form articles and origin content to newsletters, social media, and marketing material.
A big part of her job is taking what can be a pretty complex industry and turning it into content that is clear, interesting, and actually useful to customers.
Approach and ways of working
Delia is particularly interested in the stories behind coffee, how it’s produced, how the supply chain works, what happens at origin, and how all of these things affect the final product.
She works closely with the sourcing and sales teams to turn their knowledge and experience into content, whether that’s an in-depth origin piece, an article about the market, or a simple post about a new coffee.
Experience and background
Delia started working in coffee in January 2023. Before that, her background was in communication, advertising, and marketing.
She previously worked as a Copywriter in the creative department of an advertising agency in Greece, working with clients across a wide range of industries.
Industry exposure
Delia’s main focus within coffee is storytelling and content creation, particularly around the specialty coffee sector.
At Nordic Approach, this means getting into everything from sourcing and harvests to quality, market developments, origin, and the people behind the coffees.
Perspective
Before working in coffee, Delia underestimated just how complex the coffee supply chain really is — and how much value each part of it adds.
Coffee is incredibly interconnected. A decision made at one point in the chain can have an impact much further down the line, which is one of the things she finds most interesting about the industry.
Education
Delia has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and a Master’s degree in Marketing.
