Meet Eduardo Calle: Smallholder Coffee Producer in Colombia

Some of our best coffees come from Colombian smallholders who carefully manage every step of the coffee life cycle process, from experimenting with varieties to picking, processing, and drying.

Meet one of those pioneers: Eduardo Calle, also called Pacho, from El Verdún in Concordia, Antioquia. Our Colombian Green Buyer, Enki Suárez, visited Eduardo at his second-generation, family-run farm to talk about how their production has evolved, what’s behind their award-winning coffees, and what drives Eduardo to continue his father’s work as a coffee producer.

CO-25-0559 - El Verdún # 1 by Pacho Calle: This lot has a classic profile with juicy dark fruit, molasses sweetness and herbal depth with nuances of black currant, brown sugar and plum jelly. Kenya-like structure with excellent depth, blackberry intensity and violet florals.
